The opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and technically strong, proactive Audit Semi-senior to join our audit team in our Mombasa office, to support the planning and delivery of high-quality audit engagements across our client base. The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of accounting and audit procedures and have hands-on experience in testing and documentation of audit evidence, identification and escalation of audit risks, and contribution to client recommendations that strengthen internal controls and financial reporting.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a business-related course.
Qualified CPA(K) or ACCA.
Skills and competencies
Minimum of 2 to 4 years of audit work experience in a similar position.
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office
Team player
Fast learner
Good communication skills
Fluency in English
Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision
Reporting lines
Audit Supervisor
Duties
Carrying out an audit, following the audit plan, under the supervision of the Audit Supervisor.
Support the development of audit plans, including risk assessment and tailored audit approach.
Ensuring review notes on assignments are resolved within a reasonable time frame as agreed with the Audit Supervisor.
Identifying engagement issues and communicating these, as they arise, to the Audit Supervisor.
Effectively documenting work to the firm’s standards and ensuring compliance with ISAs.
Reviewing working papers, supervising and providing coaching to junior team members.
Contribute to efficient audit budgeting, time management and timely completion of assignments.
Responding to client correspondence/queries in a timely manner.
Actively developing technical skills on the job and through formal training and complying with the firm’s CPD requirements.
Building working relationships with the client.
Carrying out any other tasks as may be delegated from time to time
