The opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Audit Associate to join our audit team in our Mombasa office, to assist in the delivery of audit assignments for our clients. The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of accounting and audit procedures.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a business-related course.

  • Completed at least Part 2 of ACCA or CPA.

Skills and competencies

  • Minimum 1 year of audit/accounting work experience in a similar position.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office

  • Team player

  • Fast learner

  • Good communication skills

  • Fluency in English

  • Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision

Reporting lines

Audit Supervisor

Duties

  • Carrying out an audit, following the audit plan, under the supervision of the Audit Supervisor.

  • Working as an effective team member to complete assigned tasks within the time budgeted for those tasks and communicating

    the engagement progress on a daily basis to the Audit Supervisor.

  • Ensuring review notes on assignments are resolved within a reasonable time frame as agreed with the Audit Supervisor.

  • Identifying engagement issues and communicating these, as they arise, to the Audit Supervisor.

  • Effectively documenting work to the firm’s standards.

  • Actively developing technical skills on the job and through formal training and complying with the firm’s CPD requirements.

  • Building working relationships with the client.

  • Carrying out any other tasks as may be delegated from time to time
